Consider/Appoint Agriculture Committee for Obion County Central's Enhancement Grant

Background Information:

The Obion County Board of Education was awarded an Agriculture Enhancement Grant by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture in the amount of $150,000. The budget for this grant, including federal, state, and local funds, is incorporated within the General Purpose School Fund Budget for the 2010 – 2011 school year. The grant was written to improve our agricultural offerings at Obion County Central High School and to bring the county schools and community together for agriculture related activities.

To help ensure that all aspects for phase II of our agriculture improvements are considered, I request for the Board to appoint an Agriculture Improvements Committee and recommend the following members:

At least one (1) member from the Board
James Faulkner, representing the Board
Russ Davis, Vocational Director
At least one (1) administrator from Obion County Central High School
Lynsey Butler, teacher
Nick Lucus, teacher
At least one (1) member of the Vocational Advisory Committee

Phil Graham and I will be in attendance at all meetings and the public will be welcome to attend any and all meetings.

I recommend the appointment of the committee and committee members as set forth above.
